Reporting an Accessibility Issue

NCF continues its efforts to improve the accessibility of its site and services in the belief that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible and unhindered use by all who visit.

If you wish to report an accessibility issue, you may report it to us by completing this Accessibility Form.

Your concern will be reviewed in a timely manner. Appropriate campus subject matter experts will be consulted as needed, and we will provide an initial response to your concern within two business days, including effective communication of any time sensitive information.  Primary importance will be placed on its correction to satisfy accessibility requirements.  For access assistance with NCF NetID’s, network access, and for general technical support, please contact the IT helpdesk.

Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting the New College of Florida website. When you visit our website, our Web server automatically recognizes the Internet domain and IP address from which you accessed our website. We gather information regarding the volume and timing of access to our website by collecting information on the date, time and website pages accessed by visitors to the website, including pages monitored using Google Analytics (Google Privacy Policy).

Personal data, such as visitor IP addresses, is collected from visitors to our site using tracking technologies such as third party cookies and non-cookie technologies. A third party vendor contracted by the college (NextRoll) may place cookies on the browser used by the visitor in order to serve targeted advertising and for measurement and analytics purposes.

Site visitors can decline to have personal data collected via third party tracking technologies by navigating to the settings feature in their browser and declining all third party cookies or declining third party cookies from specific sites, or, for mobile, limiting ad tracking or resetting the advertiser identifier via the privacy settings on their mobile device.

Our site collects hashed identifiers derived from email addresses for the purposes of cross-device tracking for targeted advertising, and for direct marketing purposes. Please refer to NextRoll’s Privacy Notice, and site visitors from California may refer to this section. Site visitors from European Territories are prompted to consent to the collection of personal data when accessing our site, in compliance with GDPR. 

Site visitors may opt-out from receiving cross-device site advertising (i.e. tracking a user across devices), by accessing their device setting or visiting and employing the controls described on the NAI’s Consumer Opt Out

As an agency of the State of Florida, information shared with us is subject to disclosure under the Florida Public Records laws, unless specifically exempted. If you choose to share personal information with us, it may released if required by the Florida Public Records Laws or in accordance with our policies, rules or regulations and must be saved for a designated period of time to comply with Florida’s record retention policies. We will not sell that information to commercial entities. Most student information is kept confidential pursuant to the federal and state Buckley Amendments.

Please be advised that under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records.  If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send us electronic mail.  Instead, contact us by phone or in writing.

New College Social Media Commenting Policy

Our mission at New College of Florida is to create a positive, respectful environment where people can feel comfortable openly sharing their thoughts, ideas, and opinions. This mission is carried over into the online world. The New College social media accounts and website are a visible presence and extension of the College, wherever people engage with them. The administrators of New College social media are charged with upholding this mission, and ensuring that the comment sections of our posts are a space for open dialogue. However, we will take action against comments that undermine our mission, including:

Use of vulgar, profane, racist, or otherwise inappropriate language; Spam or inappropriate promotion; Anything that may be deemed to be harmful to others in our online or on-campus community, that may negatively impact the reputation of New College of Florida or viewed as disparaging the work or actions of others in our campus community. These decisions are at the discretion of the College’s social media accounts administrators.

We do not like to remove comments, however, these decisions are at the discretion of the College’s social media accounts administrators. So please adhere to these guidelines and help us keep online dialogues positive, friendly, and respectful for everyone.
